When I started singing and playing the guitar at 18, I immediately wrote songs. It was a welcome evolution from my French poetry years, and a good way to reconnect to my English roots. I taught myself by listening to singer-songwriters, at the heart of the splendid folk music revival. In my early twenties, I published a few albums under the alias EYYES and played some gigs here and there – then my shamanic practice took over for a while. Now in my mid-thirties, I am proud to release new songs as Jimmy Jay Joël – and other music projects that will follow. There will be YouTube acoustic sessions, then an album to be released in 2026. I've got dozens of songs under the hood, can't wait to share them with you!
